About Ethi CO
Rooted in Ethiopia. Beyond the Bean.
Ethi CO was created to share a broader story of Ethiopian coffee, agriculture, and tradition.
Ethiopia is widely recognized as the birthplace of coffee, but the story of the coffee plant extends far beyond the roasted bean. The fruit surrounding the coffee seed, the leaves of the plant, traditional brewing methods, spices, and generations of agricultural knowledge all form part of a much larger coffee culture.
At Ethi CO, our mission is to bring more of that story to the world.
More Than Coffee
We explore the coffee plant beyond the familiar bean through products such as Hashara, our Ethiopian cascara made from dried coffee cherries, traditional-inspired cascara blends, and Koti, made from coffee leaves.
Alongside these products, we celebrate Ethiopian coffee, spices, ingredients, and traditions that reflect the diversity of one of the world’s most remarkable agricultural cultures.
Our goal is simple: help people discover Ethiopia through what it grows, creates, and shares.
Honoring Origin
For us, origin is more than a location printed on a package.
Behind every harvest are farmers, families, communities, landscapes, and generations of knowledge. As Ethi CO grows, we aim to build relationships that keep Ethiopia and its producers connected to the value created from Ethiopian products.
That means pursuing responsible sourcing, greater transparency, and opportunities to bring more value to the communities at the beginning of the supply chain.
A Whole-Plant Approach to Coffee
Coffee has traditionally been valued primarily for its seed—the bean. We believe there is an opportunity to think bigger.
The coffee cherry can become cascara. Coffee leaves can become Koti. Different ingredients and preparation traditions can create entirely new experiences from the same remarkable plant.
Using more of the coffee harvest can introduce new flavors to consumers, encourage innovation, reduce agricultural waste, and potentially create additional sources of value for coffee-producing communities.
We call this looking beyond the bean.
